Prototype Public release date for JRPG Heartstrings

Welcome back, you know what time it is! The time has finally arrived! Heartstrings is here!(Sort of, let me ellaborate.)

Back on July 19 of 2025 I first announced Heartstrings, Under the title of “Bound by Mourning. I am very excited with how much progress has been made since then. We’ve gone from scribbles on pages to something playable, tangible; It’s become something much more than just an idea.

The updates

It doesn’t look like much but eventually there will be a lot going on here. One of the things that I’ve really been struggling with when it comes to putting this together is I am taking way too much time trying to make everything “perfect”. I have to keep reminding myself that this is supposed to be a prototype and if I don’t get the basic features down, the game can’t even exist

• 3 Playable maps
• 3 Basic cutscenes
• Basic ABS battle system
• Minimal crafting

There are some things that I I have considered adding in the next update including a wishing well mechanic (Or some type of randomized loot), A preview of visual novel cutscenes, An explorable dungeon with puzzles and interrogation mechanic. These things are subject to change however as the game is being worked on in real time and as I’m working with beta testers it could affect how the game forms in later versions.
